Cruisin' Grand: Friday Nights on Grand Avenue Since 2000

Every Friday night from June through September, something magical happens on Grand Avenue. The modern world fades away as hundreds of pre-1974 American cars roll slowly through Downtown Escondido, their chrome gleaming under the streetlights while thousands of spectators line the sidewalks. This is Cruisin Grand, one of the premier vintage car cruise events in all of Southern California.

A Friday Night Time Warp

From 4:00 to 9:00 PM every Friday during the summer months, Grand Avenue between Escondido Boulevard and Ivy Street becomes a rolling museum of American automotive history. Hot rods, classics, antiques, and customs parade up and down the avenue while families stroll, photograph their favorites, and soak in the atmosphere. The energy is electric and the admission is free.

More Than Just Cars

While the cars are the main attraction, Cruisin Grand has become a catalyst for the entire downtown economy on Friday nights. Restaurants fill up, shops stay open late, and the sidewalks buzz with a community energy that is hard to find anywhere else. Many downtown businesses plan their weekly schedule around Cruisin Grand because it reliably brings thousands of visitors to Grand Avenue every week all summer long.

Cruisin Grand runs every Friday from June through September, 4:00 to 9:00 PM on Grand Avenue in Downtown Escondido. Arrive early for the best sidewalk spots and to grab dinner at one of the downtown restaurants before the crowds peak. Parking is available in the surrounding lots and side streets.
