Who We Are
The Escondido Downtown Business Association is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to the marketing, support, and preservation of Historic Downtown Escondido. A community we've proudly served since 1962. We bring together local business owners, merchants, and community members to enhance the downtown experience, advocate for our district, and produce the events that make Escondido's Grand Avenue come alive.
Our History
ESCONDIDO DOWNTOWN BUSINESS ASSOCIATION
The Escondido Downtown Business Association (DBA) was established in 1962 by a group of community-minded business owners. It was created to foster relationships among local entrepreneurs, advocate for the needs of downtown businesses, and promote Escondido’s historic downtown district. From the beginning, the DBA also served as a unified voice for its members in communications with the City, Fire Department, and Police Department.
HISTORIC GRAND AVENUE DOWNTOWN ESCONDIDO
Established in the late 1800s, Historic Grand Avenue has long been recognized as the economic and entertainment heart of Escondido. With its charming architecture, locally owned shops, art galleries, and diverse dining options, Grand Avenue offers a unique blend of old-town character and modern flair.
Downtown Escondido is home to a vibrant arts and culture scene, with public art, museums, and live music venues that bring the area to life day and night. Community events such as the weekly farmers market, seasonal festivals, classic car shows, and street fairs draw locals and visitors alike to stroll, shop, and celebrate.
Whether you're exploring the historic buildings, enjoying an outdoor café, attending an art walk, or simply taking in the atmosphere, Historic Grand Avenue invites you to experience the heart and soul of Escondido.
